Waterborne Relief is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing professional flood response, water rescue support, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief to communities impacted by hurricanes, floods, and other water-related emergencies.
Built upon the professional network and operational framework developed through the Swiftwater Safety Institute (SSI), Waterborne Relief brings together experienced rescuers, emergency managers, boat operators, medical personnel, and technical specialists capable of supporting disaster response operations across the United States and internationally.
Our personnel have supported disaster response efforts following major events including Hurricanes Laura and Ida and continue to train FEMA Urban Search and Rescue personnel, Task Force teams, special military operations units, fire departments, law enforcement agencies, and emergency management organizations worldwide.
Founded by the Rescue Professionals at SSI
Waterborne Relief was founded by professionals from the Swiftwater Safety Institute, extending decades of technical rescue training, flood-response experience, and trusted public-safety partnerships into nonprofit disaster response and humanitarian service.
Recent Deployments
Hurricane Laura
Team members deployed in support of response and recovery efforts following Hurricane Laura, working alongside public safety and emergency management partners in affected communities in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Hurricane Ida
Personnel from our network supported disaster response operations following Hurricane Ida, assisting communities impacted by catastrophic flooding and storm damage in Jefferson Parish – New Orleans, Louisiana.
